Potomac CruiseWedding, Washington DC

Patrick and Gillian met on a trip to Guatemala and took each other on romantic dates in just about every country of Central and South America. Patrick is an Army officer stationed in Haiti and Gillian is a diplomat stationed in Guyana. Although their relationship developed overseas in exotic destinations, Patrick chose his hometown in Oklahoma to propose to Gillian over their Christmas break.

Their wedding took place in Washington DC on Potomac Belle yacht at sunset.

The couple and their families started their day at Hotel Monaco, where Gillian and Patrick had their first look.

Afterwards, the couple and their families took a stroll to Waterfront in Old Town Alexandria and boarded their yacht.

The cool breeze rising from the Potomac river and spectacular views from their boat of the Lincoln Memorial was a perfect setting for their big day.

The wedding color palette of whimsical purple and white looked great with the blue of the river and gold of the sunset.

Their day was about adventure and family, not just the wedding. Gillian and Patrick committed to cultivating a private moment between two people in love. While Gillian shared a love poem as part of her vows, their families could no longer hold back the tears. She wrote that poem for Patrick only 3 months after their first date.

After the vows, the couple literally sailed into the sunset, while dancing to country music.

It was perfect!

After the cruise, the entire crew visited Basin Street Lounge on King Street for some scotch, cuban cigars and storytelling. With only close family in attendance, it was that much more special to be able to share this day with them.
