Chinese Traditional Wedding, Washington DC

Alex and Megan instantly appealed to my traveler’s heart with their traditional Chinese wedding with tea ceremony and lion dance!

The day started at bride’s home with close family in tow and bride and groom poured tea for all important relatives in exchange for blessings, red envelops and gifts.

It was such a colorful and vibrant ceremony.

Later that afternoon the party moved to St. James Church in Annandale, where Megan and Alex had their first look in her white dress and his tux.

All the bridesmaids got the front row view of the touching moment!

After the ceremony we took a little trip to Georgetown waterfront for wedding party photos and had so much fun in the rain! Lucky for us, the rain quickly stopped and we were able to capture some beautiful portraits.

The reception took place in China Garden and the party was started by a traditional Chinese lion dance and confetti! It was such a memorable wedding!
